About Me

My photo
Starting from a young age I have always loved clothes. My mum would put me in one set of clothes in the morning and by the evening I would have changed at least 5 times. My sisters would moan and carry on but it was important that I had a different look all the time. I would always make sure my church outfit was accessorised and my shoes shined. My passion has developed and since opening my dressmaking business I have a sweet spot for amazing fabrics. I hope to pass the tradition on to my own little sweetheart one day!

Gorgeous blog and bridesmaids dresses

HI All... well its starting to heat up here in sunny QLD and the humidity is really not something I'm used to since moving from the south. Loving the tan and the time outside all the time. No such thing as a rainy day which means sewing is a little hard to justify when its so gorgeous outside. Maybe I need to move my sewing room to an outdoor room..oh how divine this would be.
Just wanted to share a gorgeous link to a bridesmaid and non traditional type blog. Love how weddings are just becoming so different and unique. Speaking of that I had received my cousins invitation this week and how exciting cause my family hasn't had any big engagement/wedding celebration since my own 4 years ago! I just LOOOOVE wedding and parties. Anyway, check out http://carol-hannah.com/blog/... would love to hear your thoughts.

Something a little different

So, I was asked to make some gorgeous nappy covers for a newborn girl. I had so much fun drafting my pattern, working out what was needed and best of all decorating them. These were just 3 of 6 that I made but I think I have a new hobby. Just need a little one of my own now to make some for... can work on that!

New Inspiration for the Summer

Hi Bloggers!
So summer is around the corner here in OZ and living in the land of sun (QLD) I am really starting to get excited! Just finished a particular project for my hairdresser here in Brisbane. Was great to expand my skills and make something different for once rather than skirts, dresses and clothing for myself. They are called Nappy Covers. I think these are just so cute and adorable. They cover a baby's nappy and gives the nappy a whole lot more class rather than just a big white bottom. Especially great for little girls with dresses or skirts, active little people deserve active and adorable clothing. This has now sparked some interest in baby and children's clothing so I may just make a whole bunch more and put up on MadeIt or Etsy sometime soon. Please contact me if you are intersted as I can customize to your needs. Could see these on young children for a christening or wedding event..hmm can not wait to have kids!

Kids Sewing Classes- Nth Brisbane

Well, I have had this crazy idea to pass on my sewing techniques to the young. These days so many mums don't have the time or maybe even the ability to pass on simple sewing skills to there kids. That is what Im here for! I don't have a start date at this stage, as I am basing this on the popularity and requests that I receive from my advertising. My thoughts so far would be as follows:

Location: North Brisbane area near Northlakes
Time: Saturday or Sunday from 2-4pm
Cost: Approx $35 including some materials and afternoon tea
Class size: 10 Maximum
Projects Include: Bean bags, soft toys, bunting flags, draw string bags, aline skirts or shorts for the boys.

So I would love to help all you gorgeous little gals or guys with such a helpful skill in life. Please contact me as soon as possible so I can arrange and get started.

I have just finished my first client gown here in QLD! So happy with the results that the bold and bright colours she picked for her dress has inspired me. Picture is credits to Stylefile.com. Many brights to come this summer and can not wait to see the rainbow of colours when I get a chance to check out the retail therapy. Enjoy!

I have moved interstate

Hi bloggers! It's been awhile since my last post and I am sure your aware of my interstate move to Queensland . Wow what a crazy few months it has beens preparing, packing unpacking and most of all spending over 10 hours a day for 2 days in the car. I was so fortunate to have my husband accompany me as the NSW outback is not great to be alone. I am now settling into the warmer climate and looking at all the new opportunities that lay a head. Should be back dressmaking soon with enquiries still floating through from Melbourne still at this stage. So sorry at this stage to those people wanting work completed whilst my yellow pages and true local pages are not up to date. Sill post some QLD we inter pics soon... Cheers x
